Welcome to The Eldredge House
Historic Inn and Gardens

... Unique to Cape May, the nations oldest seaside resort.
"Country Charm By The Sea"

(and the only B&B to offer one-night Getaways all year round!)

As the oldest operating inn in Cape May, NJ - The Eldredge House has a long and rich history. Built in 1780, this three-story colonial style home offers charming guest rooms, each with a private modern bath. Each room also includes a queen-size bed, air conditioner, ceiling fan, cable television, wireless Internet access and free off-street parking. We also have some of the best gardens in the area.

There are many things that make staying at The Eldredge House a unique experience:

1. One of the most popular with our guests is the fact that we let you sleep in as long as you like, rather than require you to come to breakfast at a certain time! We then give you breakfast vouchers that allow you choose from many of our neighboring restaurants - a unique approach where you choose the time, place and specific menu item.

2. We offer ONE NIGHT STAYS and mid-week specials... even in peak season!

3. We offer a peaceful, more private alternative than staying right in the busy hubbub of main street.
Just a short stroll from great shopping at the oudoor Washington Street Mall, delightful restaurants and the main beach strand, we provide an intimate, restful place away from the crowds.

And so we invite you to come to beautiful, historic Cape May to stay at The Eldredge House - for an entire week of vacation, a restful weekend or to take advantage of our one-night getaways, whether in the peak of summer, the cooler temperatures of the fall season or during other special holidays!

For those who love more private beaches, The Eldredge House is also just a few blocks from Cape May's best beach, The Cove, which offers an incredible backdrop of the Cape May Lighthouse - also a great spot for catching beautiful sunsets.

Included on other pages of this site are pictures of several rooms within The Eldredge House, a few hints of the gardens that surround the house, as well as suggestions for other things to do in Cape May.
